- Collaborative settlement services to temporary workers and employers
- Customized cultural awareness / sensitivity presentations to groups and organizations
- Settlement information, orientation workshops and referrals in one-on-one sessions
- Settlement and integration supports including:
- Assistance with issues regarding basic services (healthcare, housing, transportation, adult learning opportunities, etc.)
- Assistance / Advocacy with government forms & offices
- Help with translation / interpretation needs
- Support to communities providing assistance to temporary foreign workers
- Workshop and individualized assistance to give temporary foreign workers the tools they need to find immediate employment, including:
- Resume / cover letter preparation
- Interviewing / cold calling
- Networking
- Hidden job markets
Informal Weekly Class
The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers hosts a free conversation class for Temporary Foreign Workers. This is an informal weekly class for intermediate English speakers to practice conversational English and improve confidence.
